Overcoming stage fright and initiating conversations with fellow nomads.
Practical tips and strategies to overcome social anxiety.
Tactics for making positive connections and building.
So, what to do:
Open with a question: Start with a simple question to engage in conversation, such as asking about their experience at a local attraction or how they found the city.
Fish for common interests: Listen carefully to their responses and identify any shared interests or experiences. This will provide a foundation for further conversation and connection.
Suggest shared activities: Express your interest in joining them for a shared activity later, such as checking out a bar or working together in the communal area. This shows your willingness to connect and expand your friendship.
Build familiarity: Even if they're not available to hang out, exchanging friendly smiles and greetings can strengthen your connection.
Nurture the connection: Continue to interact with them through friendly chit-chat and sharing stories and plans.
Now the above may at first glance seem fairly obvious, but what you’re really doing is FISHING…
You’re fishing for a glimmer or insight into their actual/ personal lives. And when you find that, you’re going to leverage it to form a stronger connection.
